Day 22 - Movie Time

This morning in class we came in and unpacked. We have a new student today! Her name is Alyssa. So after she got introduced to the class we went down to music. In music we practiced the Battle Hymn of the Republic. We are doing a lot of practice because we are singing that at some point for the school I believe. So then we went through our big notebook about the composers and worked on the one about Handel. He composed some music that is very popular now in some churches or even movies. We had about ten or fifteen minutes before it was time to go up to the classroom. So with that time we played some of the instruments that were out. Mrs. Frank split us up into two groups again and we played a couple songs each. Then when we got back up to the classroom we went over our new calendar math (now that it is October). Then we went over our homework from the weekend. After we finished that it was break.

At break we all ate our yummy snacks and talked a lot. Then after break Mr. Steele gave us back our essays and he had graded them but not so we could see. He didn’t tell us because we were going to grade our own writing with a rubric. So we got the rubric and looked over it and graded the way we think. By the time we were done with that it was time to go to lunch.

So after we came back from lunch we got to watch Bridge to Terabithia the movie. We got a Venn diagram to use while watching a movie. So after the movie we are going to write a four paragraph essay about what was different from the book and the movie, but we are going to do that another time. After the movie was done we went over the things we found were different and the same. Then Mr. Steele told us about simile art. We choose some similes we found and we illustrate them. We will do that after we finish the essay. So we are going to brainstorm until its job time. So at 3:20 we did jobs. Then it was 3:25 so we did pack stack and vac and went home.
