Day 53 - Vision and hearing

This morning in class, we came in and unpacked. We did our calendar math this morning and then at 9:05 we went to music class. In music we had a substitute. I don’t know his name but he had a guitar. It was a handmade guitar. He told us a little about himself. He makes his own guitars or he makes them to sell. They were so cool! Then we played a game. It was called, “Spot the beat” We played that the whole music time. What you do to play is you make one person a detective and one person the bodyguard. There is also a person that is the beat starter. The detective and the bodyguard step out of the room. The beat starter starts the beat and then we follow along. While we start, the bodyguard makes sure the detective isn’t able to see who started the beat. Then we call the detective in and then he or she tries to see who started the beat. They get only three tries. So we played that all the way until it was time to go back to the class. When we got back we did daily math.

At break time the other class had to go to the hearing and vision tests. So we had another break without them. Then we had to cut our break short since we had to go to the vision and hearing tests too. When we came back we did science. In science we got celery sticks and then put them in red colored water (food coloring). We were testing to see if the color would go into the celery or if it would even suck anything up at all.

Then it was time for lunch. At lunch recess it was really rainy. When we came back we did social studies. We did social studies all the way until the day was done.
