It’s the start of a new day! This morning we came into the classroom quietly and got to our seats. Everyone with a blue reading record turned it in for Mr. Steele to grade it. We kept our math in our desks to correct this morning. Then we did our daily math. When we were done with that we had some announcements. Those announcements were never put a normal battery in something that takes rechargeable batteries or else it will explode and acid will go everywhere. Mr. Steele taught us that as an important life lesson. Then we got our lunch helper schedules. Five people are chosen and the do lunch helpers for 4 weeks. Then after we were done working on that we went down to the computer lab. Mr. Steele showed us a few things about the computer and a new way of saving our documents. Then everybody got noisy, so we restarted the computers and lined up. Next time if we are not quiet we will have to start writing everything by hand instead of using the computer. So we came back up and started working on our poem and writing it by hand and making a draft. Then we got a science test. It isn’t going to be a graded/recorded test. It’s just to see where we are in science now. What was in the test was an experiment. The question was, “What liquid will melt the color off an M&M quicker?” And then we had to make a prediction, material list, and a procedure. Then we had break. The break is from 11:00-11:10. We have to be back in our seats by 11:10 or we get a fine if we are not. A few people were locked in Mrs. Malloy’s classroom. It was pretty funny because they had to sit on the floor and wait for Mr. Nash to go get them. Then when we came back we did science. We got a paper about experiments and what different things we can test on M&M’s. There were questions like, “Will an M&M melt faster in your mouth or in your hand?” Then people got all caught up in their science work they didn’t realize it was lunch! So the lunch helpers went at about 12:05 and everyone else left at 12:10. When everyone came back Mr. Steele had a “Technology Test” for us. We answered a lot of questions about what we have and don’t have in technology. Then we found out what periodic element we got. Most people had no clue what theirs was. Then we worked on our paper that we have for the periodic elements. Then we moved onto social studies. We had partners yesterday with the cave thing but now we are able to work independently. As soon as we finished that we read some of our Bridge to Terabithia. What has happened today in this book is, “Leslie and Jess are a lot better friends now. Also Leslie has won every race at recess.” After that Mr. Steele showed us pictures of him and his wife scuba diving in Maui. There were turtles and octopuses! It was amazing! Then we moved onto writing. We got a pre-writing assessment about what we did during our summer. Then we did our jobs and P.S.V. (Pack Stack Vac). Everyone had a great day I hope and we all went home for a good night!
